 School Travel Plans
A School Travel Plan is a set of practical actions which aims to improve road safety and reduce car trips to school. It is developed and implemented by the whole school community in partnership with ARTA and the local Council.
Actions in a School Travel Plan can include:
Setting up Walking School Buses Road safety education
Traffic calming measures
Parking restrictions
Putting in safe pedestrian crossings
Putting in cycleways
Promotional activities to encourage car pooling, walking, cycling and passenger transport
All schools who sign up to a TravelWise School Travel Plan receive a Resource Kit and ongoing support from both their local Council and ARTA. Please contact us for more information.
