TravelWise Week 2010 – a huge success!
TravelWise Week was held between the 1 – 5 March and had students, parents and caregivers are encouraged getting out of their cars and enjoying travelling to and from school sustainably!!! Students were able to log their progress during the course of the week on classroom travel charts to show they had walked, cycled, carpooled, or taken the bus, train or scooter to and from school each day.
 Schools were competing with each other to try to get the highest percentage of students travelling to and from school in a sustainable way each day in order to win fantastic sports packs valued at over $350 each. Prizes have kindly been donated by AMI Insurance. In addition, schools with a TravelWise travel plan, were competing to win an overall regional prize.
With a huge registration response, there were over 54,000 students registered to take part through their school or Walking School Bus. The feedback has been fantastic with the number of students travelling sustainably making a noticeable difference to traffic in some areas.
